The Founder
My name is Whitney Baron and I’m a high school student. Throughout my education, math has been my favorite subject and I’ve done pro bono math tutoring for years. My interest in mathematics sparked my interest in finance. When I was fourteen, I began a job working at the desk of a small tennis facility. When I received my first paycheck, questions began popping into my head about financial aspects, including how taxes work, how interest accrues, and how to build a budget. I took a finance class over the summer which further developed my interest in financial literacy.
I developed The Cash Café curriculum to teach others about the basic concepts of finance. While it can seem complex and overwhelming, it is essential to everyone’s lives, and therefore my aim is to educate my peers in an engaging and exciting way!
